We are the 99% -- From Wall Street to Chinatown
While the wealthiest 1% of Americans own 43% of our nation’s wealth...
unemployment is at an all time high (unemployment in Chinatown is 30%)
of those with jobs, many are underemployed or experiencing wage theft
education, health care, affordable housing, and social security and other programs are being cut
We are the 99%
Many of us came to this country so our children could have a better future to realize the American dream. But no matter how hard we work, we are finding unemployment, wage theft, poverty, crammed housing and cuts to education and other social programs.
Are the 99% of the people just too lazy or stupid? Or is there something wrong with our current system?
We've...

CPA is proud to stand in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Together, and other efforts across the country. Long before the Wall Street protests began, our members and their families have been suffering from the economic crisis. Immigrants, communities of color, and low-wage workers have long felt the impact of unemployment, lack of access to healthcare, and poor living and working conditions. Unemployment in Chinatown is over 30%, 1 in 2 workers face wage theft, and social services continue to be placed on the chopping block. It’s time to hold corporate America and the wealthy 1% accountable! Our members have declared: “We are the 99%!” 我們是99%!
Will you join them in standing up to Wall Street tomorrow?...

Everyone deserves to be paid for the hours they work. But this right is denied to many low-wage workers who are paid below minimum wage, obliged to work off the clock, denied overtime pay, and sometimes get no pay at all.*Wage theft doesn’t just take money from workers.
